Teenager Tim Castle has the annoyingly bad habit of turning his best friends gay. Since they are usually straight, it is confusing  to be hero-worshiping someone who has no problem getting it on with you. It does not usually turn out so well. Swimmer Scott Watt discovers he enjoys fucking his first girlfriend more than his first boyfriend. Tim. Stoner Jace Conning needs Tim to rescue him from his older stepbrother who has been molesting him since 4th grade. The stepbrother shoots and kills Jace. Love is a slippery slope. When rich gay boy Jack Stone loses his shyness by smoking pot and attacks his schoolboy idol, Tim just goes along with the romance, pleased he doesn’t need to worry that Jack is just going through a phase. All was going well until the police shoot Jace’s dog, Max. Tim and Jack are separated from each other. In juvie, Tim knows better than to fall for a 14 year-old, when they escape together and hide out in the Everglades playing Tom Sawyer and Huck Flynn for the summer.  The straight boy develops undeniable hero-worshiping lust for Huck after he saves Tom from 28-foot ‘Gatorsaurus. Additionally, Huck beats up Tom’s abusive older brother.  Tom is adopted by his foster parent Auntie Em, recovering his straight identity, with only occasional lustful thoughts about Huck. Tim and Jack seem destined to stay together after overcoming all the obstacles to their relationship. The final obstacle – graduation and growing up.

Tim is now living at his divorced mother’s home in Iowa, with Mom’s girlfriend, Molly, and their 17-year-old twin girls, Amy and Angie. Tim finally has a best friend, Brock, the high school football captain, who could care less that Tim is gay.  Brock, whom everyone calls ‘Gator, is more interested in the twin sisters.  He has a big ego and luckily a big heart. Tim, now called Andy in Iowa, just enjoys milking the cows on ‘Gator’s farm.

It’s springtime in the heartland, 1976.
