Our hero Tim’s efforts to be expelled from Harvard are thwarted when The Harvard Lampoon sends him to Hollywood, working pre-production of their up-coming movie – ‘Animal House.’ He promises to return to Harvard after a semester of work/study. Jack’s dreams of four years living together as Tim’s roommate, is only interrupted. Jack realizes that if Tim is expelled, he’d have to decide whether to drop out himself or at least accept a break in their relationship. The freedom to be by himself quickly turns Tim into a hyper-active Hollywood player. He breaks all his rules. Sluttiness goes a long way toward success in Los Angeles. Reckless abandon makes him very popular.
As Tim notes, “I’m Eighteen, and I like it.”
